Mezzo soprano Maya Gour concluded the 2017 – 2018 season in her role debut as Hansel in Humperdinck’s Hansel und Gretel with the Savannah Voice Festival. Prior to that she was a Young Artist with Sarasota Opera where she was featured in concerts and various roles for the company. In 2017 Maya revised with role of Lucette in Massenet’s Cendrillon with Music Academy International’s Trentino Music Festival in Italy.  Also in 2017 she made her debut with Opera Parallele as The Stewardess in Johathan Dove’s opera Flight, as well as her role debut of Lucretia in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia at the Oslo Opera House. In April 2016 Maya had made her debut as Angelina in Rossini’s La Cenerentola with Opera in Williamsburg.

In 2015 Maya sang the title roles in Ravel’s L’enfant et les Sortilèges with Opera on the Avalon, and Massenet’s Cendrillon with the Miami Music Festival. She has performed Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia with Tuscany Music Festival. At the Mannes Opera she performed a variety of roles including; The Stewardess in the NYC premier of Flight, the Abbess in Puccini’s Sour Angelica, Maddalena in Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims, all under the baton of Maestro Joseph Colaneri.

Maya has performed the role of Veronique in Bizet’s Le Docteur Miracle with IVAI in Tel Aviv, Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at The Tuscia Opera Festival in Italy, and L’Enfant et les Sortilèges with IVAI under the baton of Mastro Paul Nadler.

Maya is a recipient of an Opera Index award and was a New York finalist at The Loren L. Zachary competition. In the summer of 2016 Maya was a fellow at the Ravinia Music Festival, as well as a young artist at Gstaad Menuhin Festival in Switzerland under the direction of Ms. Cecilia Bartoli. She is a recent graduate of the Mannes School of Music.
